Illinois Resources: Gauging Success

Part of Illinois's effort to measure improvements in developmental screening focused on increasing the number of paid claims for standardized screening. The Medicaid program found a 27 percent increase in these claims during the project. Paid claims for perinatal depression screening increased by 96 percent.

This section contains resources for "Gauging Success" developed by Illinois.

  • Illinois' 2005 Perinatal/Postnatal Evaluation Tool for maternal depression screening
Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services. (2006). This evaluative resource identifies the percentage of enrolled women that were screened for depression - as documented in the medical record - during the prenatal and/or postpartum period. In addition, the study was designed to collect data on whether or not treatment and follow-up occurred if the screening was positive for depression.
