Over 90 percent of children were screened during well child visits in one of Minnesota's ABCD pilot sites. Follow up referral services for children identified at significant risk included psychological services and speech therapy. Minnesota conducted interviews with providers and office staff and administered a provider survey to pediatricians and nurse practitioners about their experience.

This resource summarizes an environmental scan of Minnesota’s screening for young children, 11 focus groups were held during March and April 2004 at five Minnesota sites—Detroit Lakes, Grand Rapids, Redwood Falls, Rochester, and Roseville. This process evaluation focuses on one pilot site amd a) describes the population of children who have been screened during the project, b) examines how the screening tool has been integrated into clinical practice, and c) identifies how practice strategies of pediatricians have changed as a result of using the tool.
