Reviews screening tools for cost, time, validity; referrals, implementation, billing, and pointers from practices.; discusses why to screen, referral resources. Reviews four of the commonly used screening tools (ASQ, PEDS, CDI, and Denver II) but focuses on PEDS. Does not discuss psychometrics or evaluate tools.

Strengths

Easy to use topics listed. Review of barriers to implementation including staff barriers. Developmental screening implementation checklist. Discusses referral resources and how to handle them. Mini cases.

Weaknesses

No search box. Some of the advice on implementation is contradictory to what some found works well, such as front desk handing out tools and introducing residents to several tools. Does not discuss how to talk to parents.
